We have a new Pastor beginning Sunday August 4, 2024. He serves two other churches-Olsburg & Westmorland. His name is Bryan McBride and his wife is Sharon. He was born in Nebraska and makes his home in Alma, Kansas. We feel blessed to have found him. More details will be added, but for now we welcome Bryan to our congregation.

We are in search for a new Pastor. Stay tuned for details in the coming days. Pastor Laura preached her final sermon June 30, 2024. She retired for the second time from ministry and hopefully is getting some well-deserved rest. We can only pray for someone like her to fill the position. She was such a God-given gift to our little church. We will miss her….
In the meantime, we will have guest speakers and pastors each Sunday, until the position is filled.
Pastor Laura Burnett
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I am in the second phase of my second career as a Pastor. Before ministry, I was in nursing.
I was born a preacher’s kid, living in various small towns in Eastern Kansas. I graduated from Fort Hayes State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I worked as an RN for 25 years before entering the ministry in 2001.
I married my high school sweetheart 52 years ago. Steve and I raised 2 children. Our son and family live in Nova Scotia, where he works as a nurse. Our daughter and family live in Saudi Arabia, where they work as teachers.
When I first retired from the ministry in 2018, we moved into our retirement home on Louisville road. Steve and I are involved with fostering dogs, and cats, and we have a small flock of chickens.
A couple of years ago, I accepted a part-time appointment at Blue Valley Memorial UMC and St. George UMC. I am not here because I am a high-powered preacher-I am here because of my powerful love of the Lord. I am here to work with you, each one of you to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ in our world!
May God bless us all, as we continue together to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
